It was in 2001 when the young lads from Valenzuela, started a band that was named from a misheard lyrics of a foreign punk band song, Biboy Renia (vocals, guitars), Congie Lulu (bass), and Migs Mendoza (guitars, vocals, synthesizer). Join The Club played in the range of punk horde in the cities of Valenzuela, Quezon City, Pasay, Pasig, Bulacan, and others parts of Metro Manila. Initially the band’s drummer is Louie Dela Cruz then changed to Pao Santiago, Biboy and Migs’ fellow music college buddy in the College Of The Conservatory Of Music at the University Of Santo Tomas. Join The Club then replaced their drummer by their colleague Brian Lotho. The band released their first studio recorded audio demo, “Join The Club E.P.” It was recorded at Wombworks Recording Studios in Marikina piloted by the eminent Louie Talan. Their song “Mahiwaga” is also included on the compilation “Full Volume” released by EMI Philippines. Join The Club also played on numerous band competitions such as the sponsored event by the music magazine Popsicle, infamous Redhorse Beer Muziklaban where they were acknowledged as the distinctive finalist supporting the fusion of colloquial punk rock that then evolved into the only psychedelic folk wave in the country. The band was managed by Executive Music Producer Guy Ilacad when they released their debut album “Nobela” under Redrum Music and distributed by Warner Music Phiippines with the renowned music engineer Angee Rozul in Tracks Recording Studios in Pasig City. Their song releases are “Lunes” which was their first single, followed by the countrywide much-loved hit “Nobela”, the upbeat and catchy “Tinig”, poles apart ballads like “Paano Sasabihin”, and “Nakalimutan Ko Na Bang Magmahal”. All are widely heard on airplays on different radio stations nationwide. In addition, there are compilation albums produced which are “Hopia, Mani, Popcorn – The Best of Manila Sound” under Viva Records, “Handog” which is originally from the legendary artist Florante, and JTC also interpreted the song “I Saw You Coming In” from the album “Enveloped Ideas – Tribute to The Dawn” which was released by Universal Records Philippines. They recorded their follow up album at Tone Chef Studio in Quezon City which is entitled “Gera Ng Balarila”. Their much awaited album "Gera Ng Balarila" and video “Rakista” were released last October 30, 2013 under Twice To Beat Management by Trix Parco. This includes their single releases like "Bagong Panimula" and rock ballad "Balewalang Pag-Ibig" which hits Pinoy Myx Countdown for almost three months getting the number 5 spot as its highest attainment. Both songs are also available on iTunes and My Music Store. Currently "Rakista" is still rocking the charts for several months now. Currently, the four futurist of top musical height is on tour upholding the refined musical flavour for the nation. With their ideas in place and their aptitude in heart, their aspiration is for everyone to become conscious on other ways on how the pop and rock should be connected to the ears of every individual. For them, music should be a part of direction in a social state of a person. Join The Club is not just a band, it’s a revolution.
